Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) Overview

97É«Íønical Community College is accredited by the to award associate degrees. 97É«Íønical Community College also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is integral to the SACSCOC reaffirmation of accreditation process.

A Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is a college-wide project that focuses on an issue the institution considers to be important to improving student learning outcomes and/or student success. The QEP is developed and implemented across a five-year period, after which outcomes are summarized in an impact report.

5 Essentials of a QEP: Topic (Topic identified through ongoing evaluation process), Broad Support (Broad-based support from stakeholders), Focus on student learning/success (focus on improving student learning outcomes and/or student success), Resources (resources committed to initiate, implement, and complete QEP), Assessment Plan (clear measures to assess achievement of the plan)

97É«Íøâ€™s next QEP will be Powerful Practices for Early and Sustained Student Success. The goal of this topic will be to develop a college-wide culture of student success by engaging in mutual, collaborative early success practices that lead to improved student learning and outcomes.

Next Steps

The College is now in the process of forming the QEP Topic Development Taskforce. This group will help develop an actionable plan, assessment metrics to measure student learning and/or student success, identify resources needed to implement and complete the QEP, and educate our campus community about the QEP.
